Dr. Saadat
Anwar
Siddiqi is a Professor at the Centre of Excellence
in Solid State Physics, the Punjab University, Lahore. He is
also the Past-President of the Pakistan Physical Society. Dr. Siddiqi
took his Ph.D. from the University
of Newcastle Upon Tyne in material science. His Ph.D. thesis
was on the subject of silicon nitrides, silicones and sialons. His
current research interests in the Centre include high temperature
superconductivity, electron microscopy, electronic materials and
Auger microscopy. He supervises post-graduate research in the above
mentioned disciplines and coaches students in crystallography and
X-Ray diffraction. Dr. Siddiqi was the original founder of the Khwarzimic
Science Society as well.Contact:

Muhammad Sabieh
Anwar is an electrical engineer from the University
of Engineering and Technology, Lahore and a Ph.D. in quantum
physics from Oxford University. Currently he is a post-doctoral
physicist at University of California Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley
National Labs, Berkeley, USA. His interests include quantum computation,
nuclear magnetic resonance, spin physics and the impact of science
on the Pakistani society. He is also a member of the KSS webteam.

Shahab Ahmed has recently assumed his role as Joint Secretary,
Khwarzimic Science Society. He is an electrical engineer from the University of Engineering
and Technology, Lahore in 2000. He is currently working as a
software developer at Techlogix.
His interests include industrial automation, electronics and systems
level programming. Shahab Ahmed's services to the KSS have been
indefatigable and his dedication exemplary.

Umair Asim is one of the foremost
Life Members of the KSS and an avid supporter of science for the
public. He is a graduate and runs an illustrious girls school at
Ravi Road. His students have hit top positions in the matriculation
examination, for the past few years. he is currently engaged in
an M.Sc. Astronomy through tele-learning from University of Western
Sydney, Australia. His interests are in astronomy and popular science.
He is also an Executive Member of the Lahore Astronomical Society.

Farrah Fayyaz is another
electrical engineer from University

Kauser Javed Khan is
a lecturer in physics at the Government College for Women, Gulberg,
Lahore. She completed her M.Phil. in physics from the Centre for Solid
State Physics, Punjab University, Lahore.

Shahid Ramay is currently a Ph.D.
student in physics at the Centre for Solid State Physics, Punjab
University, Lahore. He completed his M.Phil. in physics from the
Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. His interests encompass magnetic
materials and superconductivity.
