American Physical Society extends condolence to citizens of Pakistan

The American Physical Society (APS) extends its sincere condolences to the citizens of Pakistan on the tragic loss of life in the October 8 earthquake. Read Marvin Cohen's (President APS) letter to the KSS.

President KSS's response:

Dear Dr. Marvin L. Cohen,
President
American Physical Society

Please accept our sincere thanks for sending the condolences of
the American Physical Society to the citizens of Pakistan for the tragic
losses our nation has suffered from the 8th October earthquake. The misery
and hardship experienced by the victims are beyond anyone's imagination.

The country is in need of urgent help to save the millions stranded
between lost lives, lost homes, lost hopes and the merciless weather
approaching fast. But the resolve of the people is high and with the
immense help of friends, such as from the United States of America, we are
determined to put up a show of courage, charity and determination.

We are deeply touched by your sincere condolences and feel that our agony
and resolve is being shared by our friends at the APS.

Sincerely,

Dr. Saadat Anwar Siddiqi
President Khwarzimic Science Society
