FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES AND RISKS

Things to worry about:

1. Actions not commensurate with intellectual desires
2. Gurus of the world affairs may expect that Pakistan and India must reslove their conflicts on their own.
3. India is aggressively pursuing its arms programme and acquiring sophisticated delivery systems - so Pakistan will have to follow suit; a new wave of arms race has already started
4. Pakistani western borders are perforated and nominally guarded
5. There is tremendous pressure on the governments of both the countries's population sponsored by strong religio-political parties to enhance the capacity to fight
6. Unplanned implementation of the GATT by the WTO may initiate discriminatoty distortions and imbalanaces

THE WORLD MUST MOVE ON IN A POSITIVE DIRECTION FOR MAKING PEACE
